Al Plan de Mareo in Val Badia

Al Plan de Mareo, the name of San Vigilio di Marebbe in the Ladin language. It's a lively Dolomite mountain village set at the foot of Kronplatz in a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Known as a village resort, San Vigilio is a great choice for spending both summer and winter holidays in Val Badia. In winter there are the Dolomiti Superski slopes and in summer there are trails of exceptional beauty, and even on their own these are two great reasons to visit this Dolomite jewel.

Spending an active holiday in San Vigilio di Marebbe is easy thanks to the wide choice of activities of all kinds. The cliffs for climbing in Pederü and in Val de Ciastlins, the countless mountain bike trails, the horse-riding centre, the cross-country ski tracks, the sledge runs and the zip-line are but a few examples.

In addition, the village centre has got a great variety of clothes shops, shops selling typical products and a wide range of restaurants and bars. Another of Val Badia's strong points is the local gastronomy with its Ladin and Tyrolean culinary specialities - delights for your palate.

For families with children we'd recommend a picnic at the Ciamaor beach, the Trù dles Liondes thematic path and a visit to the Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park. Whilst in San Vigilio's surroundings you'll find museums, castles and lots of other fascinating places to spend a day in the Dolomites.
